Whats in the bar?
This lesson involves looking at the ingredients of a chocolate bar and comparing the quantity and value or cost of each ingredient.
The lesson takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes in total.
The lesson starts by comparing the ingredients in a chocolate bar by weight. Next students are asked to consider the health implications of eating chocolate. Then they look at ingredients by value, including who gets what from a £1 bar of chocolate.
Before the lesson, ask students to bring in some different bars of chocolate (or chocolate wrappers). You'll need at least one wrapper per pair of students.
